Default Are 75's a comfier ride than the zt?

I don't know if it's been a debate before but is there much difference in the ride, is it the springs are softer or is it the seats are more comfier that the Zt's?
After only having the experience of driving Zt 's they feel quite a firm ride which is good but maybe I think if the rover was a softer ride I may steer to them now rather than the Mg for my old bones !
What's your views on this subject?
Richard.

The ZT's are lower than the 75's so the ride in a ZT is harder but it also depends on what size wheels you are running on the bigger the wheels and lower profile the tyres the harsher the ride will be.
There are a few factors to take into account.

The ride on a ZT is always going to be harder on a ZT. Even if you fitted 18" wheels to a 75 with a ZT tyre setup.

Early ZT models were fitted with stiffer springs as standard, later models offered a comfort pack. The sports suspension setup on later models was a cost option and were the same as the standard early setup.

Even the comfort pack is harsher than any 75 spring setup, but I believe this combination of spring setting was available on later contemporary models as a handling pack option.

Having recently changed from a 75 with 16" wheels to a ZT with 18" wheels, I have to say the ZT is a much firmer ride, but also more responsive in corners ( In my view ).... I do miss the the ability of the 75 to absorb bumps and the plush seats to cushion my rear against the country lane pot holes!
The first thing Mrs P said about the ZT when she got in it was she could feel the difference in ride quality, she liked the 75 better.... Mrs P by the way doesn't usually notice anything to do with cars!
Both have strengths and weaknesses.... It's one or the other. :-)

My Mk1 ZT on 18" rims is a very harsh ride - but absolutely rock stable in corners which is how I like it! It does have some downsides - I am the worst person in the world to be following over speed bumps if you are in any kind of hurry and I suspect it might not be the best car to be a passenger in, but for me the stability and handling are worth it.
I suspect that a 75 would give a smoother ride although I've not been in one. I have a friend who used a 75 when new as company car to ferry aircrew between airports and he says it was very different animal.

A hobby horse with wooden wheels and steel tyres is a more comfortable ride than a ZT.

I've had mine a week now, and already been to the dentist twice to have my fillings tightened.

Stick with your 75

I know what you mean. I had to have an extraction last month.

You need to change your dentist not your car
