I have found the following to work - so far.....

1) Air Fuel Ratio(Measured)
2) C02 in g/km(Instantaneous)
3) Engine Coolant Temperature (Sits around 90-92 Degrees C).
4) Engine Load (Absolute)
5) Fuel flow rate/hour
6) GPS Altitude
7) Horsepower(At the wheels)
8) Intake Air temperature (Throttle Housing on V6). Around 33-34 Degrees C with warm engine at a constant 30-40 mph.
9) Kilometers Per Litre (Instant)
10) Kilometers Per Litre(Long Term Average)
11) Litres Per 100 Kilometers(Long Term Average)
12) Miles Per Gallon (Instant)
13) Mile Per Gallon(Long Term Average)
14) Speed(GPS)
15) Speed(OBD)
16) Throttle Position(Manifold) Sits at about 11% at idle.
17) Timing Advance
18) Torque
19) Turbo Boost & Vacuum Gauge (Even though mine is not Turbo).
...also
20) Charging Voltage (Around 13.4)
21) Eco Warrior (Driving Style - Mum's Taxi - lol).

I've notice quite a few others working, but these are the ones I've taken note of so far.
Hard to give figures as obviously they change all the time, other than the ones I've quoted.

I hope this helps a bit.....

Inlet air temp comes from the MAF on diesels.

Not sure if you can view the sensor on later diesels between the intercooler and EGR.

On older type cars with distributors you could have either Mechanical Advance based inside the Distributor itself, or external Vacuum assisted Advance.

What it did was advance the spark timing as the revs increased, (sparking more and more before top dead centre, piston reaching the top of the cylinder on the compression stroke) either mechanically by use of centrifugal force inside the distributor, or increased vacuum generated because of higher revs.

Hope that explains.....

These two videos might help, although they are referring to distributors, Ignition Timing Advance is all the same in theory.

NB. Modern cars do this Electronically.
