not just english football. he was unique. dont think his goalscoring achievements will ever be surpassed . there are players who might come near in total goals scored but never at international level per number of games played ratio. he was a player who could take the ball from any angle high or low and put it in the back of the net. he was awsome and during his rise to fame took bayern munich from vertually non league status to european and domestic domination. he was absolutely incredible. i dont give credit to our teutonic friends easily but have to give respect where its due. a kind man too which in itself is to be applauded these days. ... rest in peace special one. ....

I believe his finishing ability was unsurpassed.
