Default RIP little fledgling

I posted a few days ago that we had what looked like an abandoned blackbird chick in the garden. Miraculously, it survived Sunday's thunder, lightning and torrential rain - but gave up the struggle last night. Missus found it dead in the open this morning.

I did manage a couple of photos on Saturday while the weather was half decent:-

Evening Rod, great photos

It’s always sad when our feathered friends pass on but it’s Mother Nature. A while back I found a dead green coloured snake on the footpath behind the house. When I posted a photo of it onto a Facebook group asking for the snake’s ID, my question was turned into “the murder of a snake and how cruel I was”. Fortunately I was able to close the post to all comments.

We seem to be lucky today with the weather, no rain but very cloudy.

The 4x4 is back from the workshop up and running. This afternoon I was adding a catalytic converter cleaner into the fuel tank and the plastic nozzle on the bottle slipped off and fell into the fuel tank.

I can’t remember the name of the mechanical tool I should use to retrieve it? or should I not bother?

Evening Phil, Good to hear your 4x4 is back on the road again, Don't most vehicles these days have a anti siphoning valve in them which should stop the cap falling into the tank!!!.

Pouring down again, The rain is coming down in stair rods.

Evening all, quite a pleasant dog walk tonight, much nicer than a non stop day at work.

Morning Ian, morning all

A good question about the anti siphon valve. There can’t be one in the 4x4 and it’s something I hadn’t noticed until now.

The mechanic I consult with in the UK tells me the nozzle will not make it pass the pump filter and it’s unlikely to cause a problem.
This week we are driving the 4x4 around locally and if there aren’t any issues running the engine, we are planning on driving to the coast.

Have you any plans?

Morning all and welcome to the day

I was thinking of Richard and Fiona, how the progress from a head injury is very slow and what they are both having to endure, makes our own aches and pains seem so minuscule.

What’s everyone up to?

After an evening of tropical storms and monsoon rains

A very good morning to you all

Morning all,

It's grey, blowy and nothing like summer out there this morning

Not wet though and lets hope it stays that way!
