Morning folks - it's a bit like the calm after the storm here. For a couple of hours yesterday evening we had the lot - multiple flashes of lightning, awesome cracks of thunder directly overhead and torrential rain & hail. At one stage we had a river running down the road as the drains couldn't take the sheer volume of water.
There's still a threat of further electric storms but at the moment it's pleasantly fresh with just the odd flash of sunshine.
I suppose I should pop ot and see if the downpours last night have affected the flood defences in the garage

Heard the bin wagon about ten minutes ago, was going to get them in (ours + two neighbours) but the sky looked a bit dark. Turned out to be a good move, torrential rain now, coming down like stair rods. Bins can wait!

Ditto here mate - but not as bad as I expected. The problem is that the neighbour at the bottom of the garden is quite a bit higher than me, so surface water drains down off his garden and then hits the end wall of my garage.

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

I'm going to count myself lucky then.

Sunny and dry here and has been all morning.

Remember having to create a mortar barrier at the doors of our old garage using a section of guttering as a template 'cus the drive sloped down to the doors.

Glad I didn't have the neighbours run-off to contend with too.

Had no intentions of going anywhere today, light rain mixed with very heavy blatters . . . . that was until I realised I had no food for the girls Timed it relatively well, Coop and back relatively dry and it stayed dry long enough to get the bins in. Making up for it now though, rain is bouncing off the ground.

Slight breeze here but light and with broken sun shine.
