Morning all.

Wall to wall grey cloud here and definitely cooler but dry.

Had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate in-laws 59th wedding anniversary. Smoked salmon butties and everything .

Brother in Law has just retired and bought himself a new toy - XF Jag in a mid blue. He thinks it's got about 250bhp and knows it likes to drink fuel but doesn't know how big the engine is or how many cylinders it's got and hasn't yet even opened the bonnet .

I'll be "correcting" that situation later on today .

Have a good one.

Morning greetings to one and all. The weather here can't make its mind up whether Summer is here to stay, or it can revert to Spring. This week, we've had 13° rising to 22° during the day, and 7° to 13° at night. I don't whether to put a warm fleece on, turn the heating on - yikes! - or bring the shorts out of cold storage
Wifey is off to market today - so there's a couple of hours peace and quiet

Morning all and hi

The cylinder head on the 4x4 was found this morning to have melted, burnt through and beyond repair. Not great news, so I have asked the mechanic to look at all options, a replacement engine or a new cylinder head from Kenya or from Japan.

Any good news?

Morning. Varnishing the new "table" is being put on hold. According to Carol Kirkwood on't BBC there's a big blue blob landing over here later and its to rain off and on for 24 hours.

Reet bonny them Steve.
Despite the lack of rain and some cold nights in late Spring and early Summer, we're at last starting to get some colour into our gardens:-

Tree peony in the front garden - not totally in bloom yet

Lupins in the back garden

Yellow flowers in the back garden - SWMBO knows the proper name but she's not here at the moment

YELLOW FLOWERS by Rod Thrower, on Flickr

Unidentified tree - pink flowers every Spring, then it looks as if it has died off but recovers with lots of water in the Summer. Any suggestions as to what 'breed' it is?

Quick update.

It's a 25t so the 2.0 litre turbo 4 pot petrol lump with 246bhp. 0-60 of 6.5 seconds and 152 mph top end. Apparently it's supposed to average 38mpg but he's getting nothing like that in the real world.

Interior is black leather with cream back and seat inserts. And a woeful lack of nice wood veneer .
