G'day one and all. After three days of low teens temperatures (13° at best), we seem to have got a hint of warmer sunshine back this morning. There's still a cool breeze emanating from the North Sea, and apart from a bit of drizzle on Monday, we've had no rainfall worth recording. This means that our gardens are being watered from metered/paid for by the litre water, rather than the free supply that God gives us now and then.
Despite the lack of rain, the lawns are still growing - so that's today's physical exercise - cut them!

Afternoon all, Still grey & cloudy here, I've had a trip on the train to Wigan to get some bone meal, blood fish & bone fertilisers & bamboo canes from Wilko's, Bamboo canes are hard to get for some reason at other places My concessionary travel pass is out of date soon too I'd better renew it , As soon as I left the station it started to drizzle there, of course I didn't take my jacket
I got some Wilko brand crunchy creamy cat treats & our cats are going nuts for them I can well recommend them. Edit: it's raining here now. It's followed me back.

I actually got to see a GP the other day. Wanted to see me before putting omeprazole on my repeat. Poke and prod at my belly, also took bloods to save me going to the hospital for it next week. Dug my DSLR out yesterday, charged the batteries and took a few photos of the birds in the garden today. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...78#post2887878 |

Been light rain off and on for the last couple of hours here. Saves having to water the garden.

It's been grey as dishwater all day, still have the light rain here too. Good for the garden though.

Had my DIY hat on the last couple of days. We had a pair of wooden garden chairs at the place my other half was staying at in the Lakes while she was working down there but they are designed to sit in a corner, an angled "table" fixes between them. Them being at an angle doesn't suit here but missed the table so I've been making a "square" table to fix between them. All the construction work is done, just need to varnish it. She left them with her friends in the Lakes until we could get them up here, they had a totally different concept of "looking after", they'd left them outside sitting under a tree. By the time we got them up here they were in a right mess, varnish was gone, damp, covered in green mould I had to let them dry out before spending a full day cleaning and sanding each of them then revarnishing. She left a parasol with the same friends, never saw it again, "it got damaged" . . . . hmmm.

That doesn’t sound good Steve, at least a fresh coat of varnish will protect them a while.
