Cool

Morning everyone.

We have rain, no idea if we had a storm in the night as I slept right through.

Essential shopping today.

Morning all.

No storms here last night either.

There's been some rain but not much. Now grey and overcast and about 10 degrees cooler but dry and due to stay that way for most of the day.

Maybe I'll get the Tourer clean before heading up to the North East after all .

Stay safe.

Morning, I think! Been up since five, my other half is dayshift. No point in going back to bed, if I do I can't sleep only doze, too bright anyway.

The Jay was at the feeders again but as suspected photographing it will be a challenge as it was with the woodpecker. Soon as it saw movement at the window it was offski!

Morning all - from a cloudy but refreshingly cool North Yorkshire. No sign of any thunder & lightning and judging by the lack of water in the garage water butt, we didn't have much rain last night either.
Had a very busy day yesterday - SWMBO & I collected daughter and granddaughter early doors and drove to Stockton, my recently bereaved sister-in-law's house. There, we met up with Brenda and her daughter (who has just completed a course of chemotherapy) and set off to walk to the local park (Ropner Park in Stockton). Two miles later, with a bit of puffing and panting, we arrived and walked round part of the park looking for wild parrots (!)
Hunger pangs then put in an appearance, so we tracked down the park's café and found they had sausage butties available - £2.80 for THREE large bangers and a wholemeal bread roll - cheap at twice the price. Lunch was eaten on a couple of park benches and we then walked around the rest of the place, seeing loads of fluffy cygnets in the lake, together with dozens of rather threatening looking geese protecting their young.
We then trekked back to sister-in-law's house for cold drinks in the garden under a blazing sun, before wending our way home in time to avoid the teatime rush hour traffic.
Got up this morning expecting to be a bit stiff after over 4.5 miles of walking yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find I wasn't too bad - until I looked in the mirror
I've got a face (and a bald patch!) like a well-ripened tomato - the sun was obviously hotter than I thought

Not that great here, lot of cloud with the sun occasionally poking its head out.

Good job my other half is working. She put some dried out cake on the tray on the bird feeder yesterday evening despite my pointing out it'll attract the magpies, crows etc. well it did, a crow landed, looked at the cake and decided a Coaltit looked more appetising It grabbed the Coaltit in its beak and flew away with the poor wee thing shrieking before I could do anything about it Coaltit should have had more sense than to go within reach of a crow.
