Probably dig through the water mains and flood the street

Morning all - bright sunshine here at the moment, but a strong, gusty and cold wind is holding the temperature down.
I've got a PIR solar powered light to mount above the back door, but I ain't going up a ladder, or even steps, in this wind.

We've got the ferocious gusts now - but no rain yet. Just spent an hour, with help from a neighbour, trying to rescue my garden gate. A violent gust tore it off its hinges, breaking the sneck and riving various battens off the wall.
A big repair job coming up

That winds really picked up & it's definitely got a lot colder too.
I think they've done for the day! They went to the chippy for dinner & put the boards across the hole & barriers to cordon it off.

They finally found the main cable doesn't look all that safe in that water
