There is a lot of discussions about them. Most cars eat them nowadays, due to poor roads, and poor quality. £10-15 per pair for cheap, £40 per pair for dearest/best? Personally, I put a pair of £15 ones in, and fill the rubber boot with extra moly grease. 2 years on, and no issues. They are easy to replace. Support the car on axle stands, place a jack under the anti roll bar, jack it up to release the strain on the drop link. Undo the nut at the anti roll bar. Release the jack gently (and move it to the side (to give you space). The top nut can be awkward, Turn the wheel full lock, to allow maximum space at the top of the strut. This may be enough, some people just cut them off with a grinder. To replace, fit the nut to what will be the top thread of the drop link, cut 7mm off the thread, and remove the nut (fitting and removing the nut after cutting 'dresses' the thread - easier to fit the nut after cutting). Smear some copper grease onto the mating face where the link will touch the strut, then fit the top part of the drop link first, then jack up the anti roll bar again so the hole is at the height of the thread of the link. Smear a a light drop of copper grease onto the anti roll bar where the hole it, and then refit the link. HERE is one of Arctic's great how tos.
