My sincerest condolences at this difficult time for the loss to yourself Chris and your Family.

I hope your Dad is okay.

It is shocking that you can't see him.

Went to the home today to find out how dad is , as not had any of the promised calls about him .

Asked can we Visit to finally tell him the awful news, got told we can't visit ??

Told them Ok, then designate some at the home to do the deed for me , and all of a sudden we are able to visit .

So tomorrow , not looking forward to this ..

That was probably the worst experience of my life.

Watching my 90 year old Dad crying his eyes out ..

Covered up in PPE and not allowed to go too close

Felt so helpless ..

Oh Chris, so so sad and painful. I really feel so sorry for you both at this difficult and horrendous time. I hope they let you visit him again as he will need your strength and support now more than ever. My thoughts are with you. Take care

Dads Adult care is getting to be a hot topic.

He's had these falls due to him trying to walk when he can't , he's also now been diagnosed with Vascular Demntia .

The current care home have him on 1 to 1 care , probably cover themselves, this costs a bomb, so social services keep pointing out ! .and are trying and failing to find a local alternative .

They have given one option so far as all homes locally don't /won't supply the level of care he needs, so they are offering a home nearly a hour drive each way.

Told them this is not suitable and to try again .

I had already drafted a letter to my Mp ( and friend) who happens to be Co-Chair All Party Parliamentary Group for Adult Social Care .

Email went off just now .
Don't know if will help but has satisfied my urge to keep moaning

Cool

It doesn’t hurt to moan and complain. Usually things get done, eventually.

It might be worth it to do a spinal tap (lumbar puncture), to see if the "dementia" is perhaps "water on the brain".
On X-rays water can look like big voids. Often causing a misdiagnosis as brain loss, where in fact it is a accumulation of water.

If this is the case, a shunt could do a big difference.

Well thats the week out of the way ....

Mums Cremation on tuesday with nobody present, and then a small thanksgiving Service with around 25 family and friends in her local Church on Friday.

All rather spoilt by some rather illogical Covid rules .
