Same arms, slightly cheaper and a super four year warranty .

If they are so good why not warrant them for lifetime of the car?, as the originals have certainly outlived the design brief by some considerable margin, these are just as likely in your eyes to do the same, are they not

The sad fact of the matter is simple, most of these cars won't exist in four or five years, so passing on a small margin of the generous discount allowed from Xpart on these arms and dressing it up with a guarantee doesn't wash really.

What we really want to hear about is whether or not you've managed to source a reasonable quantity of the Chinese equivalent to the Indian pattern parts, now that would impress people

Brian

We’re getting there with those, but it’s taking longer than expected - fingers crossed we’ll have some good news later in the year.

We do have a few spare pairs of the SAIC arms landing in June if anyone really doesn’t like the Indian items too

I didn't realise there was a problem with the Repro arms.

I fitted 2 X new in my reso last year. One I bought a couple of years ago from Matt and then the second I bought last Autumn. Both had their paint stripped and repainted with a stronger paint scheme and both had the cavities waxed beyond belief.

Fitting was perfect and the rear alignment was done with both rear wheels in spec.

Perhaps I was lucky.

There's a few concurrent threads on Rear Upper Arms - I thought it'd be prudent to update you all with progress on a 'final replacement' we're having worked on at the moment.

We are having an arm made up for us by the original SAIC MG supplier - the only issue as I've mentioned before has been tooling cost, as the original tooling is no longer available.
With the help of this supplier our own tooling is now being created - this will take a couple of months, but means the arms produced will be exclusive to us.

A couple of modifications will be made to the design thanks to input from the forum experts (beers incoming for everyone who has helped us with this) - namely a full inside-and-out coating, and larger drain holes (in the correct place) to help avoid clogging with mud and grime.

We'll keep you all posted with progress, but if you're waiting for a top-notch replacement at a very competitive price (nothing firm yet, but it'll certainly be less than they cost currently) then I'd hang on to November / December when we expect these to be ready.

We'll open up pre-orders once we've had them test fitted to a car and confirmed we're 100% happy with them, which I would expect to be September / October.

I would be very interested in these items as I hope to keep my car for many years to come.Having owned it for 14 years I intend to own it for at least another 14 and maybe more, there is no reason why it should not last {2002 CDT Tourer}.

These old girls seem to run forever!
I'll keep everyone posted with progress - the list of modifications we've made to these as suggested by members should help these stand the test of time.

Another update on these arms has been posted here: https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...66#post2849966

In short, it's great news and not long to go now!
