Fitting a rack is pretty straightforward, if you turn the steering from full lock to full lock while the rack is disconnected, it comes out without too much hassle.

hmm...am not feelin too confident about the garage now...its certainly not something i could do myself..dont have the tools or the space or the knowhow...used to be able to take a ford escort engine out in just under an hour once!
I am honour bound now to let them do the sensor but will withhold on the rack...thanks for the input everyone..

Hi ..... yes for sure, if you wanted the work done in Bristol - check MJN Motors and speak to Mark.
Specialist MG & Rover and I'm pretty sure many on here have also used him.... great service and very fair prices.
I think there is also a garage in Exeter?

Lynn at Exeter street garage is in Newton Abbot and they are MG Rover specialists who know these cars inside out. Local to us down here in god's country anyway.

https://exeterroadgarage.co.uk/

I have not used them for garage work as I do most of my own stuff but I have used them for spares and T4 before TOAF came out. I will be contacting them again soon for T4 for an IPK.

Might be worth a ring as they are local.
