How does that work mate. When the lights are in auto they all turn on when the outside light dips. I suspect this more of people with DRLs and auto light function NOT having the light switch in the auto position.

My last 2 X mercs put all the the lights on and, the digital dash goes to a darker colour and the headlamp on light illuminates on the cluster.

Saying all that I'm not fussed by auto lights, I prefer Rain sensors.

They probably don’t have the switch in auto then!

Call me old fashioned but I prefer on or off, on a switch, you know where you are with that.

Almost every other manufacturer has this feature.
My car has it and it’s not a Jap spec. I remember loads of comments on Facebook when I put a picture of the mileage up and the warning was illuminated. I didn’t realise it wasn’t a standard fit

I’d like the passenger mirror to index when you select reverse so you can see the kerb when parking

I think that's part of the problem, and some of these DRLs are so bright so unless you are on an unlit road then you could be mistaken for not having headlights on.

I don't understand why they didn't do the same as Volvo and SAAB have been doing for years, on my 740 tail lamps are on the same times as side lights and dim/dip headlights.

Volvo & Saab probably copied Swedish law from 1977 even on export models, the law here said lights at the front and rear.

Then in 2011 along came our dear friends in Brussels and introduced a new European wide directive with no mention of lights to the rear of the vehicle, which even Sweden had to adopt.

Regards

My year 2000 freelander had a feature when you pressed the open button on the fob for a few seconds, all windows would open. I'm sure that holding the button down when locking also closed all open windows too. Same company and many shared parts but not this option in our 75s, weird!!
