HP rail seems ok too. 0.5V key in pos 2, 1.25V when cranking. I will read the codes with TOAF again tomorrow and report back. I have attached a couple of screenshots from TOAF, when originally connected. The first is with the key in pos 2, the second when cranking. Cheers.

I appreciate the link Jon, thank you. However, I had already followed Frenchmike's guide in order to get the original measurements.

I have just returned from having the car connected to TOAF again.
Screen shots attached and description below; 1. Errors stored 2. Expansion of Glow Plug error 3. Expansion of RPM error 4. Group 1 Measurements (Key in position 2) Shows good low pressure 5. Group 1 Measurements (Whilst cranking engine) Shows good high pressure 6. Group 2 Measurements (Key in position 2) 7. Group 2 Measurements (Whilst cranking engine) More in the next post....... |

I then cleared all faults switched off ignition, then back to position 2 and re-read the errors stored.
1. Air Mass Meter error (The MAF is disconnected as it is U/S at the moment so may be responsible for this error) 2. Temperature sensor error (Again the MAF is disconnected as it is U/S at the moment so may be responsible for this error) 3. Glow device error??? Again any help, is greatly appreciated. |

Forget the glow plug error, and as you have the MAF disconnected that should account for the other errors.
When you crank it again do you get the rpm error return? If so then it could be a fault with the crank sensor or wiring to it. One strange thing looking at the TOAF data it shows both capacitor readings as 29 volts. Earlier cars should be around 80 volts, and later cars one around 80 and the other around 29 if I remember correctly. The capacitors are used in the injector circuit. It also shows 6 cylinders, so that isn't right, and a battery voltage of 9.8 - is that a normal voltage drop when cranking? Will check mine later. I don't use TOAF so don't know if it is a true voltage reading or not, but T4 would point out a capacitor fault if you had one. Last edited by Mike Noc; 2nd January 2019 at 13:27.. |
