Trimain I have the same query about Arial (magnetic v;s adhesive) and location. Did you get a fix/improvement via new location?

Hi John.

No, I had no information passed on.

I have not fitted aerial yet, but in the absence of any further information I intend to fit the aerial (stick on) on the same cross member as before.

In that position there is no metal above it to interfere with signal.

If anybody else has any other suggestions they are welcome.

Was going to do that but then thought that the steel frame which I used with the magnetic base also enhanced the aerial's function and that perhaps the adhesive would act as a barrier/gasket. Will be having a go when I receive the DAB addition. Will keep you informed. cheers

H Sir Jeff

As usual from me a couple of questions. ISO extension lead of course. for 'Steering Wheel Controls'

You sent me a couple pf pictures of the required lead which I now have one off.

1: IOS Lead PLIN No Flying Leads.jpg

2: IOS Lead With Flying Leads.jpg

We discussed this and the outcome was to use the picture as in '2' with the two flying leads (Solid Black & Solid Orange)

As we know, 'Gremlins' interfered, and I received the ISO as in Picture '1' No Flying Leads.

For anyone else reading this post. this is my pathetic attempt to wire in my Steering Wheel Controls. If you think this is easy and the reply might just be from Sir Jeff, this is ALF (trimani) were talking about

I have located the Blue/Orange and the Blue/Green in the main car lead (prior to the grey plug/skt ). No problem there then

I now understand that I splice these two cables (either war round) to the Solid Black & Solid Orange, wherever they might be hiding . Are they in the Lead No: 1. If so, easy peasy. If not, doomy gloomy.

Sir Jeff, I know we discussed this on the phone, but my 'Brain' has gone the way of my 'Hips', 'Lungs', 'Heart', and most other things that I really do need to operate with.

Taking all above into account can you send me an ISO lead with the Solid Blake & Solid Orange. and you use the card details you used last time? Ifd not I will ring them through again.

Alf,

We are getting ourselves completely confused here

The lead in picture 1 is an extension lead you requested (and we sent) to be used in conjunction with the lead in picture 2.

The lead in picture 2 is the lead that came with your Navall Star....Not the lead I sent you

You told me that this didn't have the red connector on it for some reason or other?

So, you should have both leads, the one I sent you (as in picture 1) and the one that comes with the Navall Star as standard (as in picture 2).

The whole reason you asked for the lead in picture 1 is because you said the lead that came with the Star wasn't long enough for you to patch your additional power requirements into (12 volt antenna etc) therefore I'm assuming you must have that lead?

Presuming you have both leads and then it is a simple case of chopping the red connector off lead 2 (although you said it is already removed?) and splicing the orange wire to the blue/orange wire of the grey iso connector in the car and the black wire to the blue/purple wire of the grey iso connector in the car.

As you are extending the main iso loom then I would suggest you will need to also extend these two wires by letting in a bit of additional cable otherwise you are going to end up with wires looping up

If you do find for whatever reason you no longer have the supplied lead that came with the Navall Star you will need to order that from Sean as they are his stock and then we can get one shipped out but from our previous conversations I'm pretty sure you have the lead?

P.s. We don't hold credit card details for reasons of data protection.

Hi Sir Jeff,

VERY SORRY. Complete misunderstanding.

I am going to take a 'Sabbatical', so that will give you some peace.

my 'Star' will stay where it's safe from me, in it's box.

Regards

trimani (ALF)

Nothing to apologise for Alf

What would really help me to help you would be for you to take photos of your leads you have that came with the Navall Star, then I would know for sure what you have to work with and can better describe how to hook it all up Sir

If you can't host the photos on here you can always email them to me and then we can get you up and running .........how I wish we weren't on opposite sides of the country
