Hi Karl

I've changed all the speakers & tweeters in my car when I was running Navall 3.

I used Infinity 6512i reference speakers 165mm, for the fronts, with crossover units, and standard Infinity speakers for the rears. I also changed the tweeters.

I'm no audiophile, and it was Coolcat (Sir Jeff) who sorted it all out for me, including pre-wiring the crossover units.

I then run through a 4 channel Alpine Amplifier, mounted under passenger glove box.

I also used sound deadening material to line inside doors.

This was all sorted for me by Coolcat (Sir Jeff) to suit my Navall 3 at a reasonable cost.

I fitted it all myself, bit of a fiddle but I managed it. The main problem I had was I had to fit speakers to front of mountings instead of rear, otherwise
the bigger magnets fouled the window glass frame.

I am very pleased with the result, and now I am changing from Navall 3 to 'Star', which has a better equaliser, then things should be even better.

I thoroughly recommend Coolcat's (Sir Jeff) advice on these matters, and he has other makes of equipment if you should want.

Hope that's a help.

Hi Karl and thanks Alf,

The three choices I would recommend are Hertz DSK for budget, Infinity Reference for mid range budget and Focal Access if you wish to splash the cash

P.S, I think you had an Alpine amp Alf

Jeff,

If I upgrade the speakers is it necessary to have an external amp with the navall 3?

They will work fine with the double dins own built in amp but would sound better still with a decent external one

Hi Sir Jeff (Coolcat),

I am looking forward to running the 'Star' on the 10 way equaliser. Should be good.

Thanks for the amplifier correction.
