Good MPG for around 50 miles a day. Relaxed cruiser on long runs. As comfortable as the petrols.
The 1.8k 75 is a much better car for throwing around country lanes. The diesel is no way near as well balanced as the 1.8 due to the heavier engine. My Omega V6 shows that you don't have to buy diesel for low-down torque (as did cars with the M/T series engines). But you do for high MPG combined with low-down torque. If MPG etc. were not material considerations I would always buy a V engined car - one just cannot beat that sound. Belts etc. are irrelevant in my view given their cost per miles relative to fuel. |

Personally why I went for the 190 v6 rather than the diesel....
I dont think diesel suits a zt. Perfect for the 75. But ive had remapped diesels with custom fmics runnin 230bhp in a golf. It still didnt feel sporty.. Dont get me wrong, torque is great and the 190 isnt perfect, but Ive always felt using a full rev range far more enjoyable than the limited torque curve of a diesel . Oh, and they sound like tractors!

Knowing I know I would not be put off buying a diesel 75 without cruise, I'd check for the wiring harness. If the harness is not there then I would be lost as not sure how to overcome that. No doubt there is a way. macafee2 |

I sold my 75 2.5 and replaced it with a manual ZT diesel..... I do 250-300 miles per week to and from work, the diesel turns in far better MPG and saves me a small fortune in fuel when comparing my bills for the two cars...
I admit the diesel isn't quite as smooth as the petrol at low speeds, but there isn't that much in it... and with a 160 remap, there is nothing noticeable in the performance either, in fact I prefer the torque offered by the ZT. As always, everyone has their views, but for me, the diesel is my preferred option |

How about no spark plugs, no coil packs, no cambelt, low RFL ( on a manual that is), low insurance, far superior MPG, bags of low down power without having to rev the nuts off it. Yep my CDTI does all that I want.
