Glad to see you're cracking on with it.
Having helped a friend do his last year it's quite involved - but we managed it (with a good few tricky bolts) in a weekend.
We dropped the subframe a few inches, but didn't remove it entirely.

Thanks for that Mat. Weekends work for two sounds more like sense to me. I have been at it on my own for about 7hrs and I'm only just ready to draw the box back. That said, I have had lots of aggro with rusted bolts and stuck ball joints, I am also 68 years old, so work at a steady pace. Jumping up and down getting tools and crawling back under the car is hard for an old boy like me.

That was my experience too. Up and down, in and out from under the car.
I was 50 when I did mine and at 68 I would definitely say "get someone to give you a hand mating the gearbox up with the engine". I did mine on my own from start to finish. Mating the box back up to the engine took hours and I have never been in and out from under a car so much in all my life.

Good luck mate. I wish I was nearer, Id give you a lift...
