Default Non start & diagnosed

Right car wouldn't start tech came and had a look, diagnosis as follows

Non start due to Top cam balance shaft seal worn...

Also separate issue clattering noise due to working bearing on pulley

third issue running slightly rich, check for relevant compression on 2nd bank.

If you have had it diagnosed and know the answer to the non start, what is the question?
Can't see how worn seal would stop it starting?.
Repair of worn bearings fixes item two.
Running rich is surely fuel issue? not compression issue unless really clapped out?

Items 1 & 3 don't sound right to me. Can't see how a worn seal would stop it starting.

I am confused, top cam balancer shaft? Its a camshaft why would it have a balancer shaft, unless he thinks the rear belt drives a balancer not a camshaft? If so he may not know the engine very well may not be beat for start fault on a v6,

What is the starting fault? Will it just not start or not start correctly?

Don't want to put anyone down who is willing to repair our cars but the diagnosis sounds utter gibberish.
The bearing noise would be concerning on a V6 though and how would this have been observed if the car will not start?

Right car died while warming it up then wouldn't start, turned over but no fire. Left car for hour until guy came and it started first turn. He then revved the **** out of it via the throttle cable and listened and inspected bits of the engine.

Matt; the first thing to check is the fuel filter for loosening. This is mentioned on the forum quite frequently. Do you know what to do?
