Default In tank fuel pump - diesel....

Hi all, after my non starting issues at the weekend, my car is now at a garage in Minehead.... I am being told that there are two pumps in my diesel tank ( To clarify, this is not the UB pump or the high pressure fuel rail pump ) ... but a pump to lift fuel from the lower part of the tank + a pump to take fuel out of the tank and onwards....
I cannot see where there are two pumps in the fuel tank on Rimmer bros schematics, so I was concerned and wondering if any variants of the diesel ( 2003 ) did have this? Can anyone advise or do I nee to question the garage further!!
Thanks
Phil

There's definately only ONE electrical pump in the fuel tank on all models, there is a venturi "pump" filter/fuel guage assembly in the other side of the tank but this has no moving parts except the float for the fuel guage and unless it's been interferred with doesn't require replacement

The garage are ill informed

Russ

As above, there is one within the tank assembly - you can just change the pump 'insert' rather than the whole assembly including pipework.
The insert can be purchased here: R75 / MG ZT CDTi In Tank Pump

Fitting takes around 1-2 hours, depending on how easy you take it. It's quite a simple job, just a bit fiddly.
