Well all done.
It seems if you go too far adjusting the nut under the handbrake it will slip off the spline, the amount of thread above the nut was 32mm so be advised.
Below the threaded rod is a square insert then the cable, by tightening the cable too much raises the square insert out of its shaft which causes the nut and cable to spin as one unit.

Well thats how I see it.

Anyway shoes adjusted and handbrake adjusted with 23mm and lock on 3 clicks
