There is usually a retainer screw to hold the knob to the shaft.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Default Knobs!

They are almost certainly security door knobs... the chamfered side is usually topmost.... It is designed to prevent hanging as the angle prevents any cord from getting a purchase. They are used in any situation where there is a risk, police cells, mental Institutions etc..... They don't have a fixing screw for the reason above. I used to work for a company who manufactured ones very similar to this.....

No, the flux capacitor was upgraded to an overhead throbulator in post dealer launch cars.
