You should have had a yellow camera phono lead come with the head unit which has a 12v socket as well. If you chop the 12v socket off you can use the wires in this to power your camera
I connected my reverse camera like on photo below and it still not work. Every time I put car in reverse the monitor of head unit become black
I used the blue wire marked "back" from head unit

Whilst I'm waiting for sean and Jeff to get answer from the DD people, what is the best app to get the mirror link working on an xperia z?

DNLA works fine to access the music files on the phone, but when I click on the mirror link icon on the head unit it says the phone isn't connected when it is lol.

Also how do you get the DD to access the Internet? I've tried tethering but it just won't recognise my phone...

Cheers

Only certain phones are compatible with mirror link and I believe you have to use the front usb connection for initial setup.
Sean has a list of compatible handsets
As an iPhone user I haven't had the opportunity to play with Mirrorlink.
Tony Fry has it set up on his and can advise further

I take it you have connected the wifi usb dongle to the unit?
If so and you've switched wifi on in the head units menu, you then need to go into the phones settings and switch tethering on in the phone menus

I'll check the wiring on the unit I have at work on Thursday for you and check through your connections.
I'm off tomorrow so will have to be Thursday I'm afraid.

Oh right so it doesn't tether through the usb cable?

What wifi dongles work with the DD then?

It gave me a giggle
Just spoke to Tony and he said if you google Mirrorlink it comes up with a list of compatible hand sets.
I think you have to download an app to your phone if it is compatible

On this topic, what would be a good mobile wifi device to use if you didn't want to use a phone for it? My iPhone works ok but it doesn't seem to pick it up every time. Might do better with a purpose made device with a stronger signal output I could maybe wire permanently in to the car.
