Default A day to reflect

Today is the 14th year since that terrible day in 2001, the day the world changed forever.

Let's spare a thought for all those that were lost and those caught up in the 9/11 tragedy .

Remember that day like yesterday.

Was coming back from Edinburgh with the NHS van about 3pm, put the radio on and it was on.

Got home and the scenes on the television were beyond belief.

Yes indeed, a terrible tragedy, all those people who lost their lives simply going about their business, remember it as if it was yesterday, is it really fourteen years.

Watched it unfolding on the internet - I don't think I have ever been so emotionally affected.

I was here at the shop on that day, just like it was in New York it was a glorious warm and sunny September day.

We had a small portable TV at the front of the shop and everyone who came in just stood transfixed at the unfolding drama on that small screen!

I think the world has become a much darker place and societies much less tolerant of each other since, the innocence of life seems to have been washed away somehow.

I was on holiday in Spain and saw the first videos on a crummy TV in a small supermarket but didn't have a clue what was going on. It wasn't until I got back to the villa that I saw those terrible scenes on CBS.

One that I don't think we have ever recovered from either.

All the bad things that seem to be happening throughout the world seem to lead back to that fateful day!

You will never forget what you were doing and where you was on that tragic day. The sight of those poor people jumping from the two towers is something I will never forget and nor should any of us.
