Default Help needed urgently

Hi All, any ideas welcome, only had 1 key for my ZT kept saying Ill get 1 cut as spare but my only key is locked in the car boot 30 miles from home.
AA tried everything to get in without damage had to give up Deadlocking defeated them. How quick can I get a spare? where from? what details req?
could a locksmith get into boot?.
If anyone has a suggestion please let me know as Fri night is a nightmare time for this re getting anything done over weekend.
If I leave it there for the weekend some little sods will probably open it for me!
The AA hooked the loom and tried to put current down wires to open boot failed, wedged doortop and managed to press boot release, this only operated alarm. I am desperate for suggestions as it looks as though the work for customers i was doing Sat / sun will not be done as all my equipment in boot with their phone no.s so cannot contact.
I have just driven to previous owners house in borrowed car in vain hope other key in a drawer somewhere No luck.
any ideas ?? Desperate Dave

Hello Dave,

Very sorry to read of your predicament, I would not like to be in your shoes. However, can anyone who makes suggestions please do it via PM and NOT post here for general view. This is a security issue and can potentially be read by the wrong sorts - if you know what I mean.

Default Thanks Pete,

Thanks for highlighting in red and thinking of the "PM me"
this may be a timely reminder for anyone with one key!
I have stood in pouring rain today for 2 hours with an AA guy trying to get into my car, whatever they say about MG-Rover they are difficult to break into without damage and with deadlocking even breaking a window wont help if keys in boot. PS. if you resort to this, the rear quarter lights may not be cheapest as main wind up in rear has to be removed to replace rear quarter?
How do I get a new key? Just the key would do without the electronics?
But without a key to copy, cant get one cut?
If anyone has any ideas please please please pm me Dave

You are right Dave it is a reminder for anyone with only one key to get a second done. Not the nicest way to be reminded though I'll admit!

Hello Dave, have you managed to get in by the methods suggested?

If not, I have an (albeit extreme) method as a stand-by if needs be....

Hi Dave hope you have managed to get it all sorted. It makes the £100 for spare key look good value.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the PMs, AA tried everything, apparently removal of rear quarterlight not poss in 1 peice as rear wind down window has to be removed??
So breaking in desperation of wind down window can be cheaper. I'm not even certain that I can remove seats. { and of course I'm at home now and car is 30 miles away}
Have ascertained that a guy who specialises in jobs like this will get in for £140 [ I wonder what he do's in the evenings] I have to ring him in the morning. Advertises getting into cars locked with Transponders [ is that what the electronic keys are called?]
I am impressed with the security though but would have preffered to have bought a new key with the £140 "You live and learn" sadly not quickly enough!
Will put the full story of tale of woe on the forum once sorted. If he cant get in tomorrow, you may see "Help" on the forum again.
Thanks sincerely guys, I think I had better just pay the money, and kick myself!! Dave

Total c*** luck mate . I locked my keys in the boot of a mk5 Cortina I had, luckly for me it was outside my house and I had a spare set upstairs. Lets hope this time tomorrow it's all sorted.
