https://duckduckgo.com/ seems good - at least it passes the "Conservatives are" autocomplete test :¬)
http://www.twistor.co.uk promote themselves as ethical but it looks like they don't produce huge numbers of results - guess if you chop out unethical results that's what you get!! Personally I like Bing. Arguably not much better than Google on tax but I like Microsoft

DuckDuckGo doesn't track you the way Google does, or keep records of everything you ever searched for. Much better at respecting your privacy, I would recommend it.
It amazes me that the vast majority of people are so blasé about Google, Facebook et al in terms of how easily they hand over (or fail to protect) their own privacy, data etc. I avoid as much as possible using any of them and have additional protections like NoScript, Ghostery and others enabled in order to prevent them from sneaking in cookies, running scripts etc on my devices. Using NoScript is a real eye-opener in terms of seeing how much stuff attempts to load every time you open different web pages. Quite useful for preventing malicious stuff too.

Ditto on the ghostery + ublockorigin.org on duckduckgo, It's the reason I use firefox on my win10 PC, as far as I know they dont have 3rd party extensions for ad blockers.

I run Firefox on my Windows 10 laptop. I use Ghostery and Adblock Plus which collectively seem to do a pretty good job of keeping out unwanted bits of software etc. Some will always sneak through the net - Super Antispyware and CCleaner (both FOC) can often get rid of any that have breached the wall, and the FOC version of Malwarebytes is excellent at rooting out and blitzing some of the more persistent ones

Wow fellow members are as passionate as myself lol. As they say power currupts, its a pity that as a company grows it seems to loose its identity and it goes down the path of world domination and profits that dwarf countries GDP.

Firefox is only a browser, but it has options to use a search engine of your choice with Google being the default, under search options you can set for Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo or any one of your choice plus has inbuilt anti-tracking if you wish.
