booze run
Had a good morning, made a booze run into England!.
A very enjoyable round trip of 180 miles. weather terrible but cosseted in my 75 it mattered not. Got enough beer and cider to last me until 2021. Saved at least £75 on welsh prices after the diesel cost. Mixed driving returned 47mpg on computer which is very accurate, what's not to like about these old cars when they are running well?. Roy |

I had no idea booze was dearer in Wales.
Reminds me of the days when we used to have day trips to France before Christmas to buy cheap booze. I can remember when I went with a mate who had a Renault Espace to France and we filled the car with wine and beer and the poor car must have been on its bump stops on the way home. The day return on the ferry was under £20 and we must have spent £hundreds. |

Yes, 50 pence a unit in wales, 2litre bottle of cider, £5.00 in Wales, £2.10 in England. Supposed to cut excess drinking, just an extra expense for the less well off.
