Default Some DIY fettling

Some years ago at a car boot sale I bought the kit in the picture for £1.
Last year I wanted to use it but could not get the oxygen bottle and so had to spend about £25 on an adaptor. The oxygen bottles are exceedingly expensive at about £27 but this is a disposable item.

My £1 bargain has now cost £52. This is still no more then half a new price.
Used it a couple of times. Today I made a bracket up for my shower as the original has snapped. As the bracket comes only in a kit and the kit is £59.95 + vat thought I'd have a go.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I made this to hold my bottles.

Gas Axe - AKA Oxy-Acetylene torch (used for both cutting and welding metal) I believe. You can't actually see the business end in the OP photo...

You won`t get far using Oxy-Acetylene for cutting, maybe small cuts,
Oxy-Propane for serious cutting.

Not sure why you think that? For cutting they are equally as good, all about using the correct nozzle for gas and thickness of material. plus acetylene will cut stainless a darn sight easier than propane and if it's a decent chunk you've got no chance with propane, can't get it hot enough.

I have a full size oxygen bottle and the same size acetylene one.

With the correct torch they will cut through almost anything.---

Acetylene burns hotter than propane. When I worked as a fabricator at the quarry, we always used acetylene for gouging and propane for hand cutting.
Propane was always used on the profile cutting machine and was regularly cutting 60mm plate, it's all about nozzles, pressure and speed

Nice bit of kit for a quid, (initially), though
