Archos 5 or Ipod or?

SWMBO birthday soon. Instead of her taking CDs and a Walkman when we go away thought of buying her some form of MP3 player. Plus, something with a means of storing photos and, with her new found fondness of the internet and email one with WiFi capabilities.

Think I have narrowed it down to the iPod Touch or Archos 5.

Having read umpteen reviews etc I am coming down in favour of the Archos 5.

Why – it has a larger storage capacity, handles more file types, slightly larger screen
Against – more bulky, would seem customer service is rubbish, less fashionable

Any views greatly appreciated as well as any other recommendations.

We own one of each, the iPod is great for music and easy to use menus etc, so I use that for music and video in the car, and the archos is far superior for film, harder to use menus but much much better quality images when played on a big tv, and better memory value for money, depends what you're more interested in, music and portable use, or hands down performance, our archos lives on its tv dock, download films onto it for $2.99 each, before they're available on DVD or blue ray, our iPod lives in my pocket, used for music and short videos on the move, and I use the wifi alot on the iPod

Did some more research and the Cowon Q5 seemed to come fully loaded - but only 80GB compared to the Archos 250GB but bigger than the 32GB of the Touch.

However, the Cowon seems to get very hot.

Looked on the Archos forum and boy are there some people who seem to be having problems or are they always unhappy?

Makes the problems that people have with the 75/ZT fairly minor.

Still a little torn - the Archos would mean that she could have all her music and photos on the device as well as various videos from the camcorder as well as getting WiFi.

The iPod does seem to have the interface sorted.

Why can I never make a decsiion straight away
