Default Trip to Plymouth

Hi folks, just returned from a trip down to Plymouth. Had a good day at the classic show at Mt Edgecumbe on Sunday now looking forward to Rabey castle on Sunday. Did 915 mile to Plymouth and back to Seaham, used 18 gal of diesel which works out at 50 mpg, a little disappointed thouht it would be a little better or is that about right.

All mpg results are down to conditions and driving style. I would say that 50 mpg is quite good.

Best I've managed from my diesel auto Tourer, was 52-53mpg. This was earlier this year on a run up to York for the national. Included some A-roads, but mainly motorway, sitting at 60mph on cruise control, with a fully working thermostat (makes a big difference if your engine reaches the correct temp ).

I'd expect slightly better if yours is a manual, but equally, sitting at 70mph will drop things back. I'd say yours is probably about right

I did start a thread a while back regarding Diesel economy.
https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=269044
I managed 57.1 on a longish run but there are some that felt that was optomistic but i think general consensus of opinion would generally sway to high 40's on avg should be considered normal and getting into the 50s on a run.
