Not entirely unrelated....for those who have fitted the heated washer jets (mine are still in the box!), how have they performed this week?

hot water has never broken a windscreen for me yet on about 10 vehicles. i must dd its not boiling water just out of the tap at about 50*C. i will never use boiling water as i beleive that may just crack it

So you may have been just below the critical temperature difference between the screen and water then, Adam.
