Default Diesel - problem starting when engine warm

Hi,

I have had this problem on 2 occasions in the last week or so.
Both times have been after driving a short distance to a shop. The car has started instantly from cold after having been left for hours, I've driven to the shop, got back in the car 10-15 minutes later and the engine turns over but will not fire.

I can hear the fuel pumps going and I have over 1/2 tank both times its happened. Both times I've left it a further 20 minutes and tried to start it and its fired as if there was never an issue. This to me implies that letting the engine cool down a bit is resolving the issue.

After having a look on previous threads here, the camshaft sensor is being mentioned a lot as the culprit. Before I spend my hard earned money on a new one, would everyone agree this is the most likely cause of the issue?

My engine is the 2.0 CDT (2001)

Many Thanks for any help.
Sam

Hi Sam, obviously it could be the "classic" Cam sensor but for high milage
cars,an injector leak back can be implied ;
if handy with multimeters,have a try:

Good luck
