Diesel - problem starting when engine warm
Hi,
I have had this problem on 2 occasions in the last week or so. Both times have been after driving a short distance to a shop. The car has started instantly from cold after having been left for hours, I've driven to the shop, got back in the car 10-15 minutes later and the engine turns over but will not fire. I can hear the fuel pumps going and I have over 1/2 tank both times its happened. Both times I've left it a further 20 minutes and tried to start it and its fired as if there was never an issue. This to me implies that letting the engine cool down a bit is resolving the issue. After having a look on previous threads here, the camshaft sensor is being mentioned a lot as the culprit. Before I spend my hard earned money on a new one, would everyone agree this is the most likely cause of the issue? My engine is the 2.0 CDT (2001) Many Thanks for any help. Sam |
