Put it in for MOT after being off the road for 2 months whilst the following was done.....

New auto box fitted (sounds so simple when written as 4 words )
Front wishbone replaced
ABS Sensor and bearing replaced
Annual service
and a handfull of other small bits 'n' bobs

Anyway it passed !!!!!

2 advisories. Child seat fitted and a tyre close to limit. Quite happy with that!

(oh and realised my subscription has just finished so will be renewing that too)

Filled the boot with junk, and made several visits to the tip

Lovely spring clean, no more old summit seats to clutter the house with

I took the Saloon for new tyres all round.
BF Goodrich 195x65x15-91H G-Grip
Fitted, ballanced, new valves and caps, fitter did a good clean up to ensure a good seal, £46 a wheel.
To celebrate I went to car wash. Happy days.
What a shame that the set of Avons were only half worn and would have been good for many more miles if it were`nt for sidewalls cracking.
Tyres can save your life, check them regularly!

And fit the correct speed and load rating, 91 V

Don't forget, the insurance company will decline, or partially decline a claim if tyres of a lower speed rating than manufacturers specification.

They will not care, or listen to the fact the legal maximum speed limit in this country is 70MPH or we could all run N rated tyres

It does at least explain why they were so cheap!

Treated the seats to a good wash and polish and finally managed to repair the seat back map pocket. I'll give the rest of the car a bit of TLC when the weather brightens up.

Bought a brand new keyfob off the bay of e, and today I dismantled the old one, to replace the broken push button( case ).

What a palava...... pops open eventually, I decided to keep my own Valeo back, saves me having to take out the transponder. changed over the circuit board.. and going good, then just pull the metal key part out?.... holy jeepers, it was stuck solid. Watched a youtube video which showed it is just a case of pulling it out.
No joy, I ended up using a pair of molegrips to hold the key, and then pried against them with a pair of pliers to pop it out.
Swapped it over to the new front part of the case, and job done... tested it in car, jobs a good'un. Another job off the to do list and all for £3.98
