Outside temp sensor
My Tourers outside temp is showing as -10c this am and now -9c.
Actual temp is about 6c. Was thinking that if I had to take off undertray in the road (no Garage ) to check I might as well have a spare sensor to hand. Believe the part number is JTF100160A. Is that correct ?? Now the part.com (X Part) lists JTF100160A at £12 + VAT. But thepart.com (Land Rover) lists JFT100160 at £6 + VAT. Anyone know please if there as any difference between the two (apart from an A and price of course ) |

I guess the current part number is the second one. The one suffixed 'A' isn't recognised by Rimmer's search engine. The other one shows:
Part Number JTF100160 Description SENSOR ASSY Retail Price £7.45 inc. VAT (£6.48 exc. VAT) EDIT: On second thoughts, that needs confirmation. Rimmer's search system isn't foolproof. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 6th December 2008 at 13:53.. |

I think the "A" suffix on the first part number I think indicates it is something along the lines of the 'proper' part number whereas the non-sufixed part number is the same part, in a cheaper box with a cheaper price tag.
Same happens for brake pads. Those suffixed with "SLP" (or letters similar to) are service line parts and you get them cheaper than the main 'branded' parts. Worth asking a knowledgeable garage if no one else knows the answer but I'd say go for the cheaper one |
