Wink To All with thanks.....from newbee.

Thanks to all who helped! Nubee Here

I purchased a Rover 75 Classic SE 2.0L V6 Petrol (X Reg) in the Moonstone Green this week and have done pretty much nothing except read these forums about the potential probles surrounding the car.

I, this morining, decided it would be a good idea to check the upper plemums. They were both blocked and with the help of a thick plastic coat hanger cut down I proceeeded to unblock them - gush onto the floor and over my shoe came the blackest of water.

Despite this inherret propblem with the plenums, oh what a car. Its like driving a luxury sofa!

Can any one advise of othe rpotential issues i should look out for - oh I shall be doing the lower plenum this weekend!

Many thanks

Oli

Hi, and to the club.

You're doing the right thing, reading up on the information on the site.
As you have seen there's a lot to go at.

Remember however that many people only post on here when they have a problem so it always paints the reliability image of these wonderful cars in a bad light.
Many owners like myself up to press have had no problems with their cars at all. My only expenses have been what I have chosen to do and usual servicing.

Russ

The lower one is the important one! Make certain you do it at the weekend!
If your top one was blocked, almost certain you will have a high water level in your plenum and costly result if not unblocked

To all so far, ZT perhaps but I could not find one for the money I had. I bought this from Trade, for £2300 with 1 years parts and labour warranty.

Its good to hear that not everyone has problems....BigRuss! Indeed encouraging.

As for the lower drain.....Deffo at the weekend. Weather forcast not good so need to do this.

Has anyone thought about putting string down the holes of the drainage plugs allowing the little bits of water to drain down the string...as the lip of the drainage plugs seems to stand slightly proud of the bodywork.

Any way

Many thanks to all

Hi pleased to hear you have a V6, I'm now on my third and i have to say the engine is pretty much bullet proof.

Only thing to check is that yours has had a cambelt change, they are due at 90k or 6 years which ever comes first. If you need it doing lates600 on here is highly recommended by club members.

Happy motoring, oh and enjoy motorway driving, theres nothing better than driving a V6 75 on the motorway.

Andrew
