Default Diesel injectors & cleaners

Hi guys, haven't posted for a while but wanted to pick up on something.
Last year I posted and read many other posts on the juddering take off in first in heavy traffic. Followed through Rover Ron's pages and applied mod's all of which did help. Bought a pierburgh and compensator, still divering over a synergy 1 or 2. Although still had a minor shimmy that careful clutch control could negate in heavy traffic. However once going she fly's and is a smooth as ice cream. A couple of months ago I had to have the clutch replaced and also the DMF was changed, I hoped that that may have been the issue as I'd seen posts regarding warped DMF's. Now here we are as before a slight shudder on take off especially in heavy traffic. Something I'd never tried before and did last week was to add an injector cleaner. After a 45mile journey to work and sitting in the heavy traffic before entering the Blackwall tunnel i noticed it was a bit better. Am I suffering from dirty/warn injectors, thougts? Rgds Mike

Mike

Are you saying that the problem has only just returned, or that changing the clutch and DMF made no difference?

Also, what is the engine like at tickover, very quiet or fairly noisy?

Mick

Hi Froggy, cheers for quick return...
problem started @1 1/2trs ago, even after all the mods and clutch/dmf it is still there, but not enough to cause issue.
last week put the cleaner in and noticed an improvement, judder almost gone.
she ticks over nice and smooth and pretty quite.

Hi Mike

Best thing for now would appear to be continue with the cleaner and see if the problem goes away. If not then the injectors would seem to warrant an overhaul. Plenty of posts on here re injectors (me included).

Have a read on here my thread re adding 2-stroke oil to the fuel. It certainly sparked "interest"!

try a few more tanks of fuel with a cleaner added
my ex`s car had a misfire when you came back on the power and it was there for months till i started adding redex, about 3 tanks of fuel later the car was running perfect.

Some owners found that the lower engine steady bar bushes, if worn cause judder, or probably exacerbated any that is present.

You need to remove it and check the condition - you can't tell by looking.

Absolutely! I changed mine and it looked in very good nick with no visible damage or excessive wear. However, the new one totally cured my engine's "death rattle" when switching off.

I had the same symptom, it feels like a stutter but also has a sort of deep rattle attached to it which goes once you rev through first and change into second.

I have not had it since I changed the lower engine mount last week.
