Found this Italian "how to" for the BCU rattle http://www.ephestione.it/bcu-rattle-...rbag-rover-75/ Just confirmed it works too! Remarkably peaceful now. I adapted the idea a bit, just took the bolt out and put it back with a few washers under it to move it away from the metal part it was almost touching/rattling against. Hi all
I am fresh registered here, but I've read the forum a lot before. Mostly about to find a solution for those really annoying "dashboard noises". Well, I can tell I've found the root of my one. I heard it from behind-under the passanger side dashboard at about 900-1100 and 1800-2000rpm. It gave me a really nostalgic golf Mk1 1.6D feeling... Nah thanks. So. It worth to check out the computer unit behind the glow box. Unfortunately the glove box needs to be removed. There is a small box behind it, fixed with two screws. These screws are loose in the 90% of all the 75's in the universe. If you put some foam, or sponge between the box and the pipe (you'll see if you're there) and tighten the screws + add some thick self adhesive tape of the thin noisy bottom of the box you're gonna be as happy as I am now in my dream quiet interior of my 75. |

Yes it's the Body control unit for windows, central locking etc.
Quite common to rattle

I haven't got any answers but I thought I'd throw my two squeaks/rattles/buzzes into the pot in hope of an answer. I know where they come from but not sure how to shut them up.
1. Having an auto box I rest my left leg against the centre console which then proceeds to squeak. 2. The armrest/lid of the central storage box. Any ideas?

Creaks and squeaks can often be eliminated by a dose of dry silicone spray into places where panels touch/join and the like.

My dashboard buzz turned out to be OSF (long ago replacement) copper brake pipe vibrating against bulkhead just before it turns up toward wheelarch.
