Cheers both. I have traced the noise to somewhere under the dashboard in the footwell area. Unfortunately it's hard to trace with your hand on the accelerator to keep the buzz continuous at about 2000rpm!!

Hi exforces, my two pence worth, I had a buzz type noise that seemed to come from behind the instrument cluster at 1800 to 2000 revs, turned out to be either the speedo cable 'I think that's what it is' or bonnet release cable, bit of moving around and it stopped, now I seem to have the dreaded BCU rattle, will tackle that tomorrow and hope that's what that is, you never know. There is no speedo cable on 75's.
Tis all flyby wire

I had a similar buzz which sounded like it was coming from behind the instrument panel.Turned out to be one of the cables or pipes running through the plenum chamber. Took me ages to find it can't remember exactly which one now.
I think it was the one pictured with rover label just gave it a tug and buzz stopped Picture two you can just see another cable with some pipe wrap to stop vibration Last edited by roverrattles; 30th May 2012 at 09:12.. |

Ive been on a mission to stop a similar noise. I thought it was behind the dash but I had the drivers door open revving it cos it was hot and it went. Closed it and it came back. Was the drivers door slightly pushing on the dash making the panel buzz. tightened a screw annoying buzz gone.
Good luck

I had this. I tightend up the window regulator bolts and the noise went away.

I have started getting a buzzing from what seems to be behind the dashboard, my Missus and I were searching for it, engine revving between 1900-2200 revs, Regine puts her foot on the brake pedal, noise disappears!! The pedal has a little movement before the brake is operated, and it rattles. Confirmed this by driving up to 2000 revs, buzz starts, put my left foot against the pedal, buzz stops. So now have to find away to fill the tolerance in the pedal
