Default engine management

hi, I have a 2004 75 cdti a few weeks ago the oil seperation filter became blocked causing pressure to build up in the engine, I have had the car serviced, but since then the engine light has been on because of low fuel pressure, I have noticed that the oil level appears to be rising, the car runs great starts first time etc. Has anyone had similar problems?

Welcome along....

If the oil level is rising, then something (water or fuel) is being forced into the oilways......Not something I've come across before.

Not sure what sort of milage is on the car, but might be worth checking the PCV filter which lives on the top of the engine.

I'm sure they'll be some more suggestions later on.

A completely blocked EGR Valve as well as above could cause the problem of Oil rising up Dip Stick Tube through pressure I believe. (but it might be the PCV filter that causes that on re think).
But car would generally have to be very high mileage and poorly serviced for that to happen.

Lo pressure message on T4 can also mean the Top unit on Fuel Filter under Bonnet,
this in turn triggers the Check engine light.
It can be replaced from any XPart Parts department or Rimmers,
but this wouldn't be causing a rise in Oil levels which i have never heard of before on these Engines.

Is Turbo working OK?

are you sure you're not just getting the erroneous dipstick reading (massively high first reading - wipe and it will be normal...)
doesnt explain the fuel pressure though..

hi JohnDotCom,
I have had another diagnostic done and it says fault is as you say, top unit on fuel filter, mechanic reckons the oil level is ok and has'nt been rising, thanks for your help much appreciated.

Hi pondweed,
mechanic reckons oil level is ok, maybe it is just me getting dodgy reading on dipstick, fuel pressure is something to do with censor on fuel filter.
thanks for taking the time to help, much appreciated.
