Default Diesel Exhausts - best....now!

My exhaust is pretty much hanging off - think I might scrap the car what do you think it's worth?

joking obviously - I know we have talked about replacement CDTi exhausts BUT this isn't hypothetical for me now sadly so what's the best at the moment I could buy today? (well this week would do really)

Sadly I had to bite the bullet July last year (£315) and had a full Longlife system fitted, it is a work of stainless steel art and has been completely problem free since, as one would expect. My original backbox had split and although the rest of the system was serviceable it had seen better days, it made sense for me to just replace the whole system in one go.

If the car is a keeper, get a stainless system fitted. The aftermarket stuff probably won't last 2 years (in my experience, anyway).

We have just had the LWB in at the local Longlife agent. The old rear box had a fist-sized hole in it and the 9" cut'n'shut extension welded into the standard exhaust was decidedly scabby. I would have liked to have waited for the possible bulk buy, but the MOT tester would have disagreed shortly

£325 for a stainless exhaust made and fitted from the cat backwards. Back box is oval, twin tail pipes turned down nicely under the bumper. Asked for a quiet one. Excellent service and seems good so far.

Longlife stainless steal exhaust, will probably be the same price, but with a lifetime warranty.

Question: For those of use with later CDTs (post-Project Drive) with single skin exhausts and one of the silencers missing, will Longlife make up an 'early spec' exhaust for our cars ?? (i.e.: double skinned where appropriate and with the extra silencer ?)

Thanks

Pete

I doubt whether Longlife will make a double skin as surely it's not needed as it doesn't corrode? They will add as many silencers as you wish, within reason of course. A chambered rear box would quieten the stainless box.
