Default Parts and build variations

We probably all realise the Chinese will and are altering certain areas of the car based on parts availability or to improve or simplify the availability of bought in parts from third parties etc

This following makes interesting reading from a question I asked about the Clutch Slave Cylinder to an NAC supplier, the last part about potentially making an improved retrofit CSC kit available to replace the plastic CSC in our original MGR cars is interesting and I will keep everyone posted if anything develops

"Hello Keith,

Many thanks for your mail and sorry for my slow response.

Situation is a little complex.....

NAC the new owners of MG recognised the CSC (slave cylinder) had a high
failure rate in the days of Rover. Based on this they re-engineered a new
hydraulic clutch system with FTE to replace the original
spec'd AP France
system to be sure the new car is more reliable.

The new system is not fully
interchangeable with the old system and the
master cylinder, pipes,
bracketry, reservoir tank CSC and clutch were
re-designed. The result is a much more robust system and also with
significantly lower clutch pedal efforts.
e.g. we have replaced the plastic
CSC that sits inside the transmission with an aluminium part

We are now considering to produce a clutch kit together with AP Drive Line
that would give a new level CSC when you make a clutch change that could
plug onto the original pipe. We are not sure if this is fully feasible but
we are thinking of it because we know the old level original Rover parts
are not the most robust and have a high replacement level. "

very very interesting. that could be mighty good news for MGR-made cars longer term, as if they are thinking about "upgrade kits" for clutch then they are bound to be thinking the same for the other heinous areas too. Its a good income area, and eminently do-able as they are starting with the same raw materials i.e. gearbox, engine, floorpan and panels...!
not going to be cheap though...
