Smile 2003 cdti pre mot and mods done this week

This week to my cdti I have

  • replaced the exhaust back box
  • replaced my faulty fan with a kenlowe type unit, and fitted a after market temperature sensor to control the fan.
  • Replaced egr with blanking kit
  • removed leaking egr cooler and blanked the hole on exhaust manifold
  • fitted 250bhp uprated front and rear brakes
if there is any interest in any of the above and you would like details just ask.

Default After Market reverse sensors

Just installed a reverse parking sensor system I bought off eBay for £8.00. Quite impressed with the technology for the money. Was easy to install and works well. The display is miniature compared to most systems, and I placed it on the top of my rear view mirror. It not only beeps but has dots that change colour as I get closer to an object. It also gives me a numeric digital reading telling me how close I am to an object. I already installed a reverse camera. In the U.S, I would never need such devices. Here in the U.K. multi story car parks and and other parking structures are so cramped that I feel I need all the help I can get when putting my Rover in reverse.

Hi there. Any tips on fitting the genuine Rover ski-bag? I've just bought one off e Bay but its not obvious what its supposed to clip on to. Found some instructions on Rimmer Bros ad that suggest you need to cut through carpet lining on rear seat squab with a Stanley knife. Thought I had better enquire first as that's a bit drastic... Thanks! Gavin

Default 2004 zt+

Hi. Not owned my ZT long, but loving it, even with her couple of niggles.

My car has electric rear blind fitted. I think this was an upgrade but not sure. Also had LEDs in the lights, side lights and the interior too. These were like this when I bought her. Changed the stupid blue colour HID bulbs (apparently they were 10000k) for a far more effective 6000k version.

I would love to upgrade the seats to either full leather, or part leather and black or grey alcantara, but when funds allow, as the MOT is looming.

Only had my car a few days, it has possibly every option asides the Harman kardon speakers but I would like a wood/leather wheel and auto knob!

Any ideas where to get one, also a real wood dash would be nice at some stage as mines a 2002 so has a plastic one
