Question EGR Bypass Worth It?

Been having issues with idling and sluggish performance on my cdti. Maf sensor was changed as I thought that was the issue. But, I'm now starting to think it's the EGR valve causing me the issues.

Forgive me if I posted this in the wrong place, but what are people's opinions on the EGR bypass? Is it worth doing, or is it better just to give the EGR a good old clean?

Regards,
Shug
