Reebs, some advice please
I am after a tourer to go with my saloon, and have posted in the sale and wants forum.
Could you tell me if this spec is possible, or am I searching in vain. Rover 75 Tourer Pearl firefrost Facelift Connoiseur (SE if possible) 2.0 CDTi Sanstone beige leather and Walnut interior including steering wheel I do not want to be swapping interior, I simply do not have the time.

As Reebs is not on line at the moment and as I have assisted him on the spec of the various 75 models..
The spec you asked about is possible but [and there always is] to get the dash colour you want the first owner would have to have chosen the Walnut option at the extra cost of £100 and the Walnut steering wheel at £250. The Sandstone Leather interior was a standard option on the facelift Connoisseur SE So. whilst possible, not easy to find. The Walnut dashboard was standard on the facelift Classic model but the facelift Connoisseur and Connoisseur SE had as standard the Light Oak dashboard. Many thanks Dave, that has given me valuable insight.
So I can realistically expect to find Firefrost facelift Connoisseur SE tourer Sandstone Leather interior, and light oak dash. I can go with getting someone to fit a real walnut dash, which I really want anyway, but thought it too much to expect. But, I may get lucky, and have got all winter to find what I want. I have thought of collecting walnut bits, but then I would probably come across one with walnut everthing, and i do not want to spend ages getting it to what I want. I will see what happens by April

Even if you were lucky enough to find your diesel Firefrost Connoisseur SE
and it did have a walnut dashboard it would be a plastic dashboard. The plastic walnut dashboard was poor quality compared to the real wood. I have fitted a real walnut dashboard and changed the ashtray and all the other bits and pieces, its not that big a job about 3 hours work.. Dave T |

Thanks Duotone for answering on my behalf (and as accurately as usual I might add ).
The biggest stumbling block is of course the walnut trim in a facelift Connoisseur, it is highly unlikely you'll find one for sale with the correct spec and exterior colour and engine type, that just happened to have had a special order Walnut not Light Oak interior. Regarding the plastic versus real wood option, I would say, if you are happy with the feel and look of the interior of your current saloon, then go with plastic. I for one have had cars with both types, and am perfectly happy with the finish of my current plastic one. (I know this is virtual blasphomy to many members) but I can only speak as I find. Good luck with the search Devilish. |

Thanks Guys, wood or plastic is all the same to me Reebs, however, when I find the tourer I want and oak is the only option. Then I will try for a wood dash first if I am to change it, but as I said plastic will do fine.
I am tempted to go on the hunt for walnut bits, but if I spend a hefty sum on dash, wheel, handbrake grip, and console. I am bound to come across someone like trebor with a firefrost facelift tourer, who has done a walnut conversion.
