Does the radiator fan work? I had this, admittedly on a rather hot day, but the diesel overheated, and went into what I can only describe as "limp home" mode, wouldn't rev above 2000-odd rpm, until I got out of traffic and the rad had some airflow through it.
Replaced the fan motor, and no problem since. HTH Malcolm

Common things to check/do I suppose are:
Intercooler seals (affects torque under 1500rpm) MAF sensor (affects performance under 2000rpm) Clean EGR valve (could give hesitation at certain points in the rev range) |

Power trouble
Don't laugh but can I suggest you check the mat in the drivers foot well, mine slides under the pedals and makes a big difference to the performance.

Seems to point to airflow, the turbo kicks in at 2000RPM and it does not seem to be doing it's duty

Hi. I had hesitation at 3000rpm so I replaced the maf last wednesday, you would not believe the diff. The egr is easy to remove but cleaning is very messy, but it does improve air flow a little but the ideal is a bypass valve. I am waiting for one at the moment.
