Default Kv6 Inlet Manifold / Vis Motors

I have been getting either a grinding or rattleing noise lately which i which i can hear from inside the car and i think it is coming from the inlet manifold. I have tested the power motor which is working fine but not done the balance one yet. I'm not sure if it is rattleing but if it is and its due to the valves coming away from the actuator arm what kind of revs can i expect to hear it as i hear the sound once i reach 2000 rpm?

if it is the inlet, get it fixed asap,im currently running a KV5 motor due to parts of one of the butterflys not wanting to rattle around anymore and re-modelling an inlet valve.

Rattle in the inlet manifold is only caused by worn joints on butterflies. or the rod being disconnected. If your power VIS has failed in the open position this exaggerates the noise.

If your power VIS is working and the wear is slight it can hide the noise totally.

The Balance valve has no bearing on a rattle from a manifold i'm afraid.

Where can i get a brand new manifold from? I know rimmers have them in stock for £629.34 but there used to be some cheaper ones on ebay for about £550. Was it a member on here that was selling them?

Hi Ian. Sorry if it is the manifold. Only sold you that a few months back.
Power valves seemed ok at the time.

I think E-car parts had them at £479. Not listing them on ebay at the moment but might be worth a try.

Sorry.

Thats who it was that was selling them! Yes it is the manifold you sold me but i'm not surprised its knackered now as i have only had the car for 16 months and that was its 3rd manifold so thats why i'm after a brand new one which should hopefully last me a good few years
