BMW Mk3 Sat Nav to Replace Rover Unit
I have just replaced my Rover sat nav with a BMW mk3 unit. Does anyone know where one can acquire instructions on how to use the BMW unit and also the teleatlas map software; I used Navteq before. Currently I am making it up as I go along and am probably missing some good bits!
Having learned a great deal from this forum, I now have attached to my battery and the Sat Nav Drive the following label. TO AVOID CORRUPTION DO NOT DISCONNECT WITHOUT ALLOWING SAT NAV TO SLEEP. OPEN ALL DOORS, BOOT AND BONNET WAIT FOR RED LIGHT TO GO OUT THEN DISCONNECT BATTERY CLOSING DOORS ETC WILL RE-AWAKEN Not only a reminder for me but the garage, the AA man and everyone else I trust to know about this, but I suspect doesn't |

Dependent on What year your car is,
You most probally had the MK3 Rover unit which operation wise is the same as the BMW and the Navteq Discs work on this as well. You can make use of TMC if tuned to a channel using this, Classic FM always does. Operating Instructions were not supplied very often, you could try a BMW Parts counter, but any specific questions fire away. |

I think you will find this link useful - you can download and print the full instruction manual - makes you realise how much more functionality there is on a BMW.

I forgot the X5 site, even though a member. Doh!
Good link that thanks. Wide screen unit might confuse but the rest is basically the same. Last edited by JohnDotCom; 23rd August 2007 at 22:16.. Reason: Correction speling |
