Any news on the price of the harness??

You won't be able to use the H/K bits with the more basic head units so far as I am aware. You will need the Hi-line system I believe or possibly the Lo-line system.

Why not? I am using the HK system together with an aftermarket Alpine Unit. All it does after all is to patch into the speaker level outputs from the HU. I replaced my symphony connected to a HK system with an aftermarket Alpine unit without any problem.

What does the other end of the HK harness look like? You might need an extra harness or build something yourself to make it fit.

I'm not sure TBH but if you call my garage on 01634 388999 & ask for Simon he can help advise on these issues.

I'm afraid that statement is a bit of an Oxymoron

The Hk is an under shelf mounting, right across the car effectively lowering the parcel shelf by the depth of the moulded unit, which is circs 6" deep (don't quote me on that you'll have to check the size to be exact...)

However you then keep full width useable space all be it less boot height/ weigh that up against the size and shape of a more regular bass box.
Personally I'll be going the latter route, as when neccessary (and when you remember ) you can remove the bass box, but each to his or her own

I have a zt-t, in my previous car, A4 avant the sub was enclosed in a side panel in the boot giving no loss of boot space.

Saloons don't have the same panel arrangement to the rear of the wheel arch as the Tourers. I'm sure something could be made to fit buy a competent DIYer.
