Default Unable to eject satnav cd

As title says.... have held the eject button down for long periods, many times, etc etc.... hear the whirring as if trying to eject but nothing happens.

Took off the top cover (as no warranty, did not worry about breaking seal), only to find no way to work out how to manually remove the cd.

Anybody got any ideas of how I might be able to remove the cd?

I don't personally have the SatNav setup but quite a few CD drives have an "emergency push here" type of hole that if you poke it with a thin stick (like a cocktail stick) you can push the drives mechansim to eject the disk. Does the SatNav in our cars have this anyone?

Have you tried powering down the SatNav and disconnecting the battery for 20-30 minutes before re-attempting? It may just work....

Instructions for SatNav powering-down and battery disconnect here

Dave it should eject if you hold the button in long enough
If not cover off, remove single screw holding the eject motor in at back right lift out motor then you can rotate the gears and manually eject the CD

Thanks for the tip, Keith, will try that tomorrow. I could not see any sort of gear mechanism that I've normally seen in audio type cd drives.

I did try holding down the eject button for ages... no joy on that score.

And Simon, thanks for the other tips... but there is no eject hole in my model... and was in fact first thing I looked for as most cd drives seem to have one!

Well, after not being able to remove the screw holding the motor in (must be the smallest torx type I've seen, and my set does not go that small!), the unit finally decided to eject the cd anyway... after what must be 100 attempts!
What was weird was that the motor did all the usual things, moving gears, etc, and even seeing the cd move upwards as if to eject, it just did not until today.
Anyway, thanks for the advice.... lets hope don't need to change CD again.
